LONDON (CelebrityAccess) – John Malkovich is set to star in the world premiere of new David Mamet play Bitter Wheat, which opens in London this upcoming June.
Written and directed by Mamet, the piece is based on the story of now disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who was officially charged by New York police with one count of committing a criminal sexual act in the first degree and two counts of felony predatory sexual assault back in 2018.
Malkovich, who plays a studio head Barney Fein alongside Doon Mackichan as Fein’s assistant Sondra, recently described the play in an interview with BBC Radio 4 as “a black farce about a very badly behaved media mogul.”
Bitter Wheat opens on June 19 at London’s Garrick Theatre and is scheduled for a limited run from June 7 to September 14.
