DETROIT (CelebrityAccess) – Some of Detroit’s biggest musical names have joined forces for an upcoming tribute concert in honor of the late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
The event, which is being dubbed, “A Celebration of The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin in Song and Dance,” is scheduled to take place February 1st at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and is being produced by Joan Belgrave, wife of late jazz trumpeting great Marcus Belgrave.
Other scheduled performers include Thornetta Davis, Mark Scott of the Miracles, Emmanuel EJ Johnson of Enchantment and the Motown Legends Gospel Choir.
Franklin’s longtime dancer and choreographer, Lisa McCall, will provide choreography for the event.
