Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is known for his music, but he’s also earned a reputation as a master of the barbecue and that was on display when he served an appropriately themed smoked meat dinner to some LA firefighters.
As noted by NME, Grohl brought his custom-made Backbeats BBQ smoker to Fire Station 88 in Calabasas on Monday night and served up some brisket.
“t was awesome to get a visit tonight from Dave Grohl of the @foofighters. He also treated us to some of his own @backbeatbbq. Thanks Dave! It was excellent!” a rep for the Fire Department said on Instagram.
Grohl recently launched an Instagram account for his BBQ and was featured for his skills as a pitmaster in a recent piece by Uproxx.
“You know, you work all day long and then you present it to someone and it’s almost like making a song,” Grohl told Uproxx’s Zach Johnston. “You have your specific recipe or your specific rub. And, you know, the best feeling is when you have those big barbecues and I’m dolin’ out food for everyone and then they start coming back for seconds, it’s almost like performance in a way.”
