LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) – Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg announced Monday that Vinnie Paul, co-founder and drummer of Pantera, died of natural causes.
Paul, whose real name was Vincent Paul Abbott, passed away on June 22 at his home in Las Vegas from cardiomyopathy. He was 54. Medical examiners identified coronary artery disease as a leading cause in his death.
Abbott and his brother, Dimebag Darrell, formed Pantera in 1981. Unfortunately, Dimebag (real name Darrell Lance Abbott) was shot to death on stage while performing with the band Damageplan in 2004.
Prior to his death, Paul was performing with heavy metal supergroup Hellyeah, which also featured Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray and Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell.
