NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) – Over five decades ago, Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry, and Randy Owen (Alabama) departed the cotton farms of Fort Payne, AL, to spend a summer playing music at The Bowery, a Myrtle Beach, SC bar. It took them six years of relying on tip jars and word-of-mouth to secure the major label deal they had been dreaming of. However, it seemed to take no time at all to revolutionize the face of country music.

Country Music Television (CMT) has announced CMT GIANTS: ALABAMA, a star-studded tribute event celebrating the remarkable career and music of one of country music’s most successful groups. Filmed at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville, the 2-hour special will feature performances by music luminaries such as Blake Shelton ft. Steve Wariner, Brad Paisley, Jamey Johnson, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan, Riley Green, and Sam Hunt.

In addition to musical performances, the event will include appearances by Evander Holyfield, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, Martina McBride, Vince Gill, and more, both in-person and virtually. They will share personal stories reflecting on Alabama’s enduring impact on music, accompanied by rare photos, performance footage, and interviews from the vault. The special will also feature a new sit-down with Alabama, providing insights into their storied career.
