LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – On Saturday (January 20), during an EDM concert at Exchange LA in Los Angeles, chaos ensued as a section of the venue’s ceiling tile collapsed, bringing the show to an abrupt halt. The incident disrupted the performances of headlining artist Dutch DJ Brennan Heart and other scheduled acts, including Lucky Rabbit, TYEGUYS, and JayR.
Social media quickly buzzed with videos and accounts of the aftermath, with some attendees sharing their experiences of being close to the falling debris, being hit or nearly hit. The venue’s management acted swiftly, ceasing the music and evacuating attendees for safety reasons. Screens in the venue turned red and displayed the message EXIT DANCEFLOOR, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
With recent heavy rainfall in Southern California, there’s speculation about the potential impact of weather conditions on the venue’s structural integrity. Exchange LA is housed in the Los Angeles Stock Exchange Building, which opened its doors in 1931. The unit was purchased in 2006 by PAX America, who spent two years renovating it before the club launched in 2010. Promotional juggernaut Insomniac operates the club and hosts events there every weekend.
CelebrityAccess has reached out to Exchange LA, but as of now, no official statement has been released, and the venue’s official website still shows their upcoming calendar with Midnight Tyrannosaurus set to perform on January 26.
