STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess) — Andreas “Heljarmadr” Vingbäck, vocalist of the Swedish black metal band Dark Funeral, announced he will be missing multiple upcoming shows after he was hospitalized for a serious medical condition.
Heljarmadr broke the news to fans in a social media post in which he said he is undergoing treatment for severe thrombosis (blood clot).
As a consequence, he will miss the band’s upcoming performances in Athens on January 26 and Stockholm on February 3rd. However, he went on to note that the shows will take place without him.
“I am not allowed to [perform] by the medical team that is taking care of me, as it could put my health at risk. However! The shows WILL be executed by the rest of the band and Niklas will step in on double duty with guitar and vocals so the gigs are NOT cancelled. I do encourage you all to go and enjoy them, you are being given a unique performance and by doing so, you support Grá and you also support me,” he said via Facebook.
“Thank you for understanding and I will tell you more when I can. Right now this is all there is to be said and I need time to rest to recover, thanks for your time,” he added.
