(CelebrityAccess) — APPIX, a new audience engagement, and lighting effects tool, was recently featured on The Mixtape Tour with New Kids On The Block
The in-venue smartphone app uses Bluetooth based transmission technology that operates without pairing and requires no cellular data or WiFi. Event organizers can use the app to engage audiences with exclusive promotions, weather and emergency alerts, and custom content.
As well, event producers can synchronize attendee phones as part of a show’s lighting display, causing each phone to show colored light that matches the production design of the performance.
Before the event, fans are instructed to download the app via a ticketing email or on-site promotions at the venue.
Apart from the NKOTB Tour, APPIX has also struck a partnership deal with UFC to create a custom version of the APPIX app called UFC In Action. The app provides users with biographical info and real-time stats on fighters, as to well as receive exclusive incentives and benefits.
APPIX also recently partnered with the LA Phil with a special concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The performance, which featured Katy Perry, John Williams, and Kali Uchis as well as additional lighting from fans phones via APPIX.
