(CelebrityAccess) Chase Atlantic, a trio from northeast Australia, dropped its full-length, Phases, today and is getting ready for a big party/industry showcase tonight at the Regent Theater in Los Angeles.

The trio – brothers Mitchel Cave and Clinton Cave and best friend Christian Anthony – talked to CelebrityAccess briefly about how their career is going. As for how the day before went, well, not so hot. It was a travel day and they were to spend it doing interviews on the bus but there was poor reception so, instead of preparing mentally / physically for their show in Phoenix they were catching up with the press.

Which didn’t bother them at all. The trio – which plays a combo of EDM, pop and hip-hop infused R&B – is having a tremendous visit to the U.S., playing mid-sized venues like McMenamins Crystal Ball in Portland, Ore., Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa and Varsity Theater in Minneapolis.

“It’s been out of sight,” Mitchel said. “We thought we’d be playing to half-empty rooms but it’s been nothing but sold out places.”

The trio has only been around since 2014, with the brothers adding programming and production to their classically trained musicianship and singing. The song “Friends” went viral and caught the attention of Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden, who signed them in 2016 to their management company MDDN.

“They came down to Australia, checked us out and signed us,” Mitchel said. And that was that. Joel and Benji basically locked them in a recording studio for three months, which resulted in two EPs and a self-titled full-length.

However, the trio touts itself as being self-sufficient and was happy to talk to an industry-facing media outlet. From its onstage production to career-defining decisions, the trio says it keeps it all in-house (yes, they mentioned they are planning some extra fog effects for the business folks in the audience tonight).

For instance, there are some artists who are basically told by their manager or record company who their agency will be while others, like Michael Bublé, will sit in on all the meetings before making a decision themselves.

“On a scale of one Michael Buble to 10 Michael Bublés, I’d say we’re about seven Michael Bublés,” Clinton said. “We spent a lot of time caring about what agencies to go with.”

They also acknowledged it may have been the first time that day they had been compared with Michael Bublé.

To that effect, Christian added that the new album is a self-produced work of which Chase Atlantic is extremely proud
