NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — After a sixteen season run, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine announced that he’s exiting from his role as a judge on the NBC televised talent contest The Voice.
Carson Daly, who hosts The Voice, announced the news Friday morning on Today, noting that Levine would be missed.
“He’ll always be a cherished member of The Voice family,” Daly said on Today on Friday. “Winning the competition three times, and inspiring many of the artists who he worked so closely with over the years” and helping launch The Voice. “Of course, we wish him nothing but the best.”
Daly also announced that Gwen Stefani would be returning to the show to step into the role vacated by Levine. Stefani has previously served as a coach on previous seasons of the competition.
Levine confirmed his departure in a post on social media, sharing some recollections and describing his tenure on The Voice as a “life-changing experience.”
