LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) House-flipping super celebrity Christina Anstead is debuting her new series, “Christina On The Coast,” on HGTV tonight at 9 p.m. with featured guest Cassandra Zebisch, aka the senior director of communications for AEG.
Anstead is also known as the former Christina El Moussa, one-half of the couple behind one of the biggest shows on television, “Flip Or Flop,” which has created a cottage industry of house flipping television shows. Anstead’s divorce from husband Tarek El Moussa was one of the biggest stories to be on the cover of various tabloids at the grocery store checkout counters as was her recent marriage to British TV personality Ant Anstead.
In the new series, Anstead redesigns luxury homes in Southern California and introduces viewers to her new husband as they work in the Newport Beach area.
What some may not know is that Zebisch, whose main job is working for AEG from its LA LIVE headquarters, has had a side hustle for several years as media contact for Anstead and played a heavy role in organizing Anstead’s wedding in December. The series kicks off tonight with Anstead redesigning Zebisch’s childhood home as she moves back into it after Zebisch’s mother joined a retirement village.
“I know what I always enjoyed about ‘Flip or Flop’ was the design part, so it just naturally made sense to get more involved in doing makeovers,” Anstead told the New York Post.
“We were filming a few shows at the same time but everyone just loved [the show with Cassie] so we decided to make it the first episode,” she added. “It’s getting to see another side of me, too, since we’ve known each other so long. It’s a whole different dynamic. I don’t think there’s more pressure [because Cassie is a friend]; I definitely wanted her to be happy and love it, and I could tell her exactly what I felt.”
Anstead will also be on an online behind-the-scenes companion series called “Christina on the Coast: Unfiltered” available at hgtv.com and on the network’s YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, Christina continues to work with her former husband on Season 9 of “Flip Or Flop.”
“I had a lot going on last year, and I thought it would be interesting to show a little bit more of my real life,” she said of “Christina on the Coast.” “And people love seeing real estate and different houses for sale and it’s fun for viewers to get a glimpse into the Newport Beach market, which is quite pricey. It’s fun to see the house-hunting process, and what gets you a house on the water versus inland.”
Although not every detail of tonight’s show is available, chances are it will use the word “backsplash” at some point.
