LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — BBC Studios Productions has appointed Lisa McCormack as Director of Production for its Entertainment & Music division, which oversees the broadcaster’s flagship music shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, Later… with Jools Holland, Eurovision and coverage of festivals such as Glastonbury.
McCormack was previously Head of Production at Whizz Kid Entertainment, responsible for all aspects of production and development for titles such as Ex on the Beach, Lip Sync Battle UK, the BAFTA Film and Television Awards and Let’s Dance for Comic Relief. She secured co-funding and distribution deals and also managed the legal and business affairs team.
Prior to joining Whizz Kid Entertainment in 2010, McCormack worked for MTV Networks International in a variety of roles, including Production Executive, Line Producer, Executive Producer, Head of Production and was also Vice President of Production between 2000 and 2008, managing large teams of up to 100 staff. She began her career as a Production Coordinator/Manager with Hewland International.
Howe will take over for BBC veteran Mark Cooper, who announced that he’s stepping down from his role as the BBC’s head of music, a position he has held for more than 20 years.
Cooper has worked at the BBC for almost three decades and his credits include BBC TV’s flagship live music program, Later… With Jools Holland and the BBC Proms. As well, Cooper has overseen the broadcaster’s coverage of major festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Radio 1’s Big Weekend and helped to bring a range of documentaries to the screen on BBC Two and BBC Four, including Roy Orbison: One of the Lonely Ones and Girls in a Band.
Cooper will continue to work with the BBC as an executive producer on special projects.
