LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Disney’s Avengers: Endgame continued to dominate the worldwide box office over the weekend, adding, $63.054 million in North American theaters, bringing its domestic cume to $723.5 million, according to estimates compiled by Comscore.
Internationally, Endgame took in $102.3 million, for a global $165.4 million for its third weekend. This weekend’s results push Endgame’s worldwide cumulative to a staggering $2,485.5 million.
The weekend’s results seal Endgame’s place as the #2 film of all time in terms of box office revenue, behind only James Cameron’s Avatar which holds the record with $2,788M.
Domestically, Endgame passed the $724M mark, topping its predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War, which earned $679M and Black Panther $700M.
New movies this week included Warner Bros.’ Pokémon Detective Pikachu which debuted to $58.0 million in 4,202 locations in North America this weekend. The animated film features voice work by Ryan Reynolds, cast as the titular Pokemon character.
Other voice actors include Bill Nighy, Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, with direction from Rob Letterman. Letterman is no stranger to the world of animated properties and he has previously helmed hits that Shark Tale, Monsters Vs. Aliens as well as Gulliver’s Travels, which was a little harder to classify as a hit.
