NEWCASTLE, UK (CelebrityAccess) — Academy Music Group Limited announced that following an agreement Fusion Lifestyle and Newcastle City Council, AMG would operate the 2,135-capacity Newcastle City Hall.

AMG is taking over operation of the historic concert hall from Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust, which has been overseeing a revitalization of the facility since 2016.
The venue, which first opened in 1928, was first built to host concerts by major British orchestras, but by the 1960s, was hosting pop and rock shows from major touring artists. Performers who have graced the venue’s stage include Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen, who performed there in 1981, as well as Dire Straits and Elton John, who both launched tours at the venue.
Upcoming shows at the O2 City Hall Newcastle include UB40, The Vamps, Hozier, Eddie Izzard, Will Young, and James Morrison.
