CLAYTON COUNTY, Georgia (CelebrityAccess) — Migos rapper Offset is reportedly facing felony gun charges in connection with an arrest last year in Georgia.
TMZ reported that Clayton County District Attorney’s office said Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, has been charged with a felony for the gun possession based on his previous felony conviction. He also faces misdemeanor charges for lane change and marijuana possession, TMZ reported.
The charges stem from last July when Offset was pulled over after police allege he made an improper lane change. Police allege that during the traffic stop, they discovered marijuana, three handguns and $107,000 in cash.
An additional charge of possessing a weapon during the commission of a crime has been dropped, TMZ reported.
In March, Offset pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a court appearance in May.
Meanwhile, Offset’s wife, Cardi B is also facing her own legal battle after she was alleged to have assaulted two bartenders during a fight at a strip club in New York last year. Last week, the Bodak Yellow rapper rejected a plea agreement and the case appears to be headed to trial.
