Bingley Music Live, a three-day music festival produced by the Council of Bradford, is taking a hiatus in 2019.

A statement on the festival’s website says the event is “taking a fallow year in order to give the land and local population a break as well as giving the organisers a chance to take a breath and evaluate the future delivery of the festival.”

According to the BBC, event organizers said the evaluation is coming after the festival racked up a £300,000 loss in 2018

In a statement provided to the BBC, Steve Hartley, strategic director of place at Bradford Council, said: “Unfortunately we have had to take the difficult decision to take a year out of Bingley Music Live this year.

“It is not a decision that we have taken lightly, but we feel that we need to take a year out to take stock of the event’s organisation.

“In these difficult financial times for councils up and down the country, we cannot afford to lose money on the event.”

Festival organizers said they are evaluating alternative approaches to staging the festival that include identifying partners in the private sector to help produce the event.

In 2018, the festival was headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Shed Seven, Jake Bugg and The Cribs.
