DETROIT (CelebrityAccess) Eminem posted an Instagram photo yesterday of his 11-year chip for Alcoholics Anonymous with the words “11 years – still not afraid.”
The rapper has been public about his one-time struggle with prescription drugs, telling Vibe magazine in 2009 that it was no secret he had a drug problem.

“If I was to give you a number of Vicodin I would actually take in a day? Anywhere between 10 to 20,” he said. “Valium, Ambien, the numbers got so high I don’t even know what I was taking.”
Eminem went to rehab in 2005 for an addiction to sleeping pills but he was hospitalized in 2007 for a methadone overdose. According to the New York Times, he started the full 12-step program and has April 20, 2008, as his sobriety date.
His albums Relapse and Recovery address the issue.
