LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Mike Myers is reportedly set to make his return to television in a new half-hour limited Netflix comedy series.
Netflix has said that the “SNL” alum will play multiple roles and also act as an executive producer alongside John Lyons and Jason Weinberg.
“I love creating characters, and Netflix has given me a fantastic playground to play in,” Myers said in a statement.
Myers first broke out as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live.” During his time on the long-running NBC sketch series, he originated popular characters like Wayne Campbell (later the inspiration for the “Wayne’s World” films), “Sprockets” host Dieter, and Lothar of the Hill People. After his time on the sketch show, Myers created one of his most famous characters, British spy Austin Powers, and starred in the “Shrek” film franchises.
Since 2017, Myers has served as executive producer and host of ABC’s “The Gong Show,” appearing onscreen as the character Tommy Maitlan.
The six-episode first season of Myers’ new Netflix show does not yet have a premiere or production start date.
