SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess) Paul Simon will be a headliner at this year’s Outside Lands Festival, which is expected to take place at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park Aug. 9-11.
Simon announced his retirement from touring about a year ago but has always said he would do the occasional show. He is donating all the net profits from his festival appearance to local environmental nonprofits.
I’m looking forward with great anticipation to playing at Golden Gate Park this summer,” Simon stated. “This will be my first appearance there, and it’s an honor to join the long line of musicians who’ve given the park its sanctified musical heritage. I’m equally pleased to be playing in San Francisco with its well-deserved reputation for being in the forefront of environmental issues. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be of service to this vital cause.”
He is also expected to appear on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” March 25.
