(CelebrityAccess) — Folk rocker Iron & Wine and the alt-country group Calexico announced they are teaming up for a new album and tour of North America and Europe.

Iron & Wine, AKA Sam Beam, and Calexico’s Joey Burns, and John Convertino first started collaborating in 2005 resulting in the release the EP ‘In the Rein.’

Now they have reunited for a full-length album Years to Burn, which will be released via Sub Pop/City Slang in June.

The tour kicks off on June 18th at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, NC, before heading to Europe for a series of shows through August. Key festival plays include Super Bock Super Rock in Lisbon on July 19th; the Cambridge Folk Festival on August 2nd; and the M-idzommer Festival in Belgium on Aug. 3rd.

Starting on August 16th, the tour returns to North America, with shows starting at the Orpheum Theater in Phoenix and wrapping the segment on Sept 22nd at the FreshGrass Festival in North Adams, MA.

“John and I spent five days in early December of 2018 hanging out with Sam and playing tunes in Nashville at Sound Emporium with our friends Rob Burger on keyboards, Sebastian Steinberg on bass, Jacob Valenzuela on trumpet, Paul Niehaus on pedal steel and engineer/producer Matt Ross-Spang behind the mixing desk. As soon we started playing together, everything just clicked. In addition to the solid batch of songs, there’s some sonic surprises and twists that will make for a great listen on vinyl,” wrote Calexico’s Joey Burns.
