BOSTON (CelebrityAccess) Boston Police called a meeting of 200 bar and restaurant owners and managers this afternoon for a closed-door safety meeting after two recent abductions near Boston bars.

“Honestly it’s a great meeting. It’s a time for us to all come together,” Jeff Goldenberg of The House of Blues told the local CBS affiliate. “It takes a village.”

“This is all just to send a clear cut message that enough is enough, there are predators out there,” Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said after the meeting, according to CBS.

The police department is asking businesses to use license readers and security systems to keep their customers safe. Video footage was “instrumental” in both kidnapping investigations, according to Gross.

Jassy Correia and another woman were abducted weeks apart. Correia was the second woman abducted from the local nightclub scene. Authorities allege that Louis Coleman III, who has been charged in connection to the kidnapping and death of Correia, met her at a Boston nightclub. Police say video surveillance shows Coleman carrying her limp body into his apartment from his car hours later, according to the Boston Globe. Days later, Coleman was pulled over by police and found Correia’s body in the trunk, authorities said.

Olivia Ambrose was kidnapped steps away from City Hall after leaving a downtown bar.

“The only difference is we were able to find her alive,” councilor Essaibi George said, according to the Boston Herald. “Whether it’s daytime or nighttime, all women have the right to socialize in public spaces without facing threats of violence, sexual assault, kidnapping or murder.”

Gross said they are in the process of forming a committee made up of law enforcement and business owners to come up with more ideas to keep people safe, according to CBS.
