LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Just days after WarnerMedia announced plans to reopen an investigation into Warner Bros. Entertainment chairman Kevin Tsujihara over allegations of sexual misconduct, he has issued an apology to his colleagues that seems to confirm the allegations that have been leveled against him.
In an internal memo obtained by Deadline, Tsujihara apologized for “mistakes in his personal life that have caused pain and embarrassment to the people I love the most.” He also apologized for embarrassing the company.
“I realized some time ago you are right to expect more from me and I set a course to do better. That journey continues,” he wrote.
He also reaffirmed WarnerMedia’s statement that it had retained an independent law firm to investigate the allegations against Tsujihara, which include using his influence to obtain roles in Warner Bros. projects for an actress he was alleged to have had a sexual relationship with.
“Since WarnerMedia’s leadership became aware of details surrounding this situation some time ago, it has carefully reviewed the matter and handled appropriately, including having engaged a third-party law firm to conduct a series of inquiries. Following these most recent news reports, the company will again work with a third-party law firm to review the situation, and I will cooperate fully with this investigation.”
Rumors about the alleged relationship first surfaced last year but were reignited on March 6th after a collection of candid text messages that purported to detail conversations between actress Charlotte Kirk and Tsujihara surfaced.
Kirk has previously denied any improper casting related to Tsujihara and Tsujihara, through an attorney, said he had no direct role in casting any of the projects Kirk appeared in.
