SAN JOSE, Calif. (CelebrityAccess) The Chocolate Watchband, once dubbed America’s answer to The Rolling Stones and an iconic band of psychedelic music, is still going strong, releasing a new album and preparing for a tour.
The album, This Is My Voice, has been released on Dirty Water Records and the band is led by founding and current members David Aguilar, Tim Abbot, and Gary Andrijasevich. The band has had its ups and downs, ins and outs, and plenty of personnel changes since 1965 but ultimately became a keystone of the 60s psychedelic rock style alongside Strawberry Alarm Clock and the 13th Floor Elevators. Their albums ultimately became collector’s items.
Now the band has released its first album in about two decades and is expecting to tour it this year.
“On This Is My Voice, The Chocolate Watchband have returned strongly, with firm proof that there is still a fire of indignation in them that they need to let out. It’s great to have them back and on form and the record neatly rounds their circle” said Louder Than War
