NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess) — After months of rumors, hints, and tea leaf reading, it’s official — The Rolling Stones have been confirmed for the lineup of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
The Stones will perform on the festival’s second Thursday on May 2nd during the festival’s 50th-anniversary event.
The Stones playing at the festival has been a matter of some speculation for months, ever since the festival added another day to their lineup and announced that multi-day passes would not provide admittance to the additional day.
The Stones also teased a New Orleans performance, with a suspicious hole left in their previously announced itinerary. But the biggest hint came when Mick Jagger including New Orleans in a new song he recorded about the upcoming tour.
Other headliners announced for the fest include Katy Perry, Dave Matthews Band, Santana, Chris Stapleton, Pitbull, Van Morrison, John Fogerty, Al Green, Bob Seger, Tom Jones, Trombone Shorty, and numerous others.
