NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) The Oak Ridge Boys are inviting friends, family and industry professionals to join them tomorrow night in Nashville as they unveil a caricature of their famed manager, Jim Halsey, at The Palm restaurant at 1:30 p.m.
Halsey, whose career spans nearly 70 years, played a key roll in tremendous number of artists’ careers, including Roy Clark, Lee Greenwood, Dwight Yoakam, Waylon Jennings, The Judds, Hank Thompson, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire, Wanda Jackson, Freddy Fender, Roy Orbison, Tammy Wynette, Rick Nelson, Clint Black, Minnie Pearl, James Brown and The Oak Ridge Boys, who he’s managed for more than 40 years.
“I am both humbled and honored to have my caricature likeness added to the wall of the world-famous Palm restaurant in downtown Nashville,” Halsey said. “I owe a great deal of my career successes to the many wonderful friends, colleagues and artists that I’ve been blessed to work alongside of. Without them, none of this would be possible.”
Over the course of his career Halsey has represented 29 of the 133 inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame, as well as 10 members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and has played a pivotal role in bringing country music to television. To date, he is the only producer or manager who ever represented every guest on a single episode of the Hollywood Squares, as well as booked his acts in every Las Vegas showroom for an entire week.
