UNITED KINGDOM (CelebrityAccess) Amid increased scrutiny in the UK, secondary ticketing platform Viagogo is reportedly moving its workforce to New York as it pursues U.S. expansion.
A source told the Guardian newspaper Viagogo it began notifying senior staff in London in May that the company was making a move.
“Several senior developers have already relocated but they’re mostly people that have been at Viagogo since nearly day one and so are probably invested in the company,” the source said. “A few others are moving in the next couple of months, and others are leaving very soon.”
A recruitment page on the company’s website features multiple job posting to join its New York team, but there is no recruitment for the the London office.
The Competition and Markets Authority told the company in April that it was risking legal action for suspected breached of consumer law; National Trading Standards launched a separate investigation days later into what it called misleading pricing.
The investigations are not expected to be affected by the Viagogo move, according to the paper.
