LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Goth rocker Marilyn Manson will not be charged in connection with a sexual assault case that dates back to October 2011.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, had a previously undisclosed police report filed against him alleging that he committed unspecified sex crimes in 2011.
According to THR, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office declined to press charges in the case because the statute of limitations had expired and due to the “absence of corroboration,” according to the court filing.
TMZ also reported that Manson faced allegations of battery and assault with a deadly weapon, but the D.A. declined to file on those charges as well, citing the state’s statute of limitations.
TMZ and the Hollywood Reporter also reported that the D.A. declined to file charges against A$AP Bari. Bari, whose real name is Jabari Shelton, was accused of sexual assault in 2017, THR reported.
It is unclear if the criminal allegations against Shelton were connected to sexual assault charges he faces in London. Shelton was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a London hotel room in July 2017. At the time, a video of the incident surfaced and Shelton said he had settled the incident amicably with the woman, who he claimed was a friend.
However, she turned out not to be that friendly after all and she slapped him with a $1 million dollar lawsuit in November 2017. In May, Shelton was arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport and charged with two counts of sexual assault in connection with the incident.
