LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — A UCLA professor died at the home of a WME exec last year in what appears to be a tragic “recreational mummification bondage” accident.
According to KNBC News, an autopsy report revealed that Doran George, also known as Duncan Gilbert, 48, died while encased in plastic wrap at the home of Skip Chasey in what the autopsy report described as a “BDSM style” dungeon.
“The decedent was covered head to toe by plastic tape and gaffers tape with small breathing holes at the mouth and nose,” according to the coroner’s report obtained by NBC. “The decedent’s partner observed that the decedent was not breathing. The partner called 911 and began cutting off plastic and tape.”
The toxicology report also suggested that there was an unusual amount of the drug GHB in George’s blood at the time of his death.
“GHB, a respiratory depressant, and the restriction of the chest caused by mummification, contribute to an increased risk for respiratory distress”, the report said.
According to NBC News, Josh Duran, Chasey’s lawyer, maintains that there was no foul play in the incident.
“They had prior consensual sexual relations, multiple times,” Duran told NBC News.
Chasey, who has worked at WME as an agent in business affairs since 2013, is also a well-known figure in the local BDSM community, according to NBC.
A page dedicated to Chasey on the website Leatherpedia.com describes him as “a Los Angeles-based educator and leather community leader.”
Chasey has also been quoted in several kink-related books and was the focus of the award-winning 2005 documentary film “Pup” which recounted the experiences of Chasey and his slave Tim winning “Best Trainer” award at the International Puppy Contest.
The autopsy was first publicized on “The Grey Zone,” a podcast focused on crime in the Los Angeles region.
