GEORGIA (CelebrityAccess) – According to AP, the Georgia Supreme Court has reversed the convictions of Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, the man charged with shooting into rapper Lil Wayne’s tour bus back in 2015.
Winfrey, who was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to six counts of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, was exonerated Friday after it was found that the trial judged improperly participated in the plea negotiations, rendering his plea involuntary.
It has been reported that the incident in question occured during a pretrial hearing in which the judge warned Winfrey that if he did not accept a plea deal and was found guilty during trial, that she was likely to be harsh in her sentensing.
