LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Grunge icons Pearl Jam postponed a performance at the O2 Arena in London on Tuesday night after the band’s frontman Eddie Vedder lost his voice performing at the arena the previous night.
In an announcement, a rep for the band wrote: “Singer Eddie Vedder has completely lost his voice. He is on vocal rest for the next few days in an effort to heal and perform the remainder of the tour dates.
“It’s the first time ever having to postpone a show for this reason. Ed and the band are gutted thinking of all the folks who have travelled and made plans,” the announcement added.
According to the statement, the band is anticipating resuming the tour on Friday, June 22nd in Milan.
No date has been set for a reschedule on the show but the band said they are working on a date in mid-July to make it up to their fans.
“Tickets for tonight show will be valid and transferable to the rescheduled concert date. Expect more information soon”, the statement from the band said.
Pearl Jam has been on the road with their current run since March when they performed at Lolla in Chile and Brazil. The tour is scheduled to wrap on September 4th with a performance at historic Fenway Park in Boston.
