LONDON, UK (CelebrityAccess) – The Classic BRIT Awards made their return last night (June 13) for the first time in five years.
Presented by Classic FM’s Myleene Klass and Alexander Armstrong, the award show, which took place the Royal Albert Hall, included performances by Katherine Jenkins, Andrea Bocelli & Sir Bryn Terfel, Ball & Boe, Alexis Ffrench, Pretty Yende and Beatrice Rana.
The evening’s big winners? Sheku Kanneh-Mason (star cellist of the Royal Wedding) who took home both Male Artist of the Year and the Critics’ Choice award, and Michael Ball & Alfie Boe, who took home Group of the Year and Album of the Year for Together Again.
Additional winners included: Tokio Myers (PPL Classic BRITs Breakthrough Artist of the Year), Renée Fleming (Female Artist of the Year), Andrew Lloyd Webber (Special Recognition Award for Musical Theatre & Education), Andrea Bocelli (Classic BRITs Icon award), and Dame Vera Lynn, who at 101 was honoured by the UK music industry with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
