FORT WORTH, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Independent entertainment company Red Tail Concerts announced that it is merging its business with another indie promoter, 35 Concerts, and the two companies will continue to operate under the aegis of Red Tail Entertainment.
The post-merger company will consist of a presenting division, Red Tail Live! which will focus on presenting live entertainment at venues across North America, and Red Tail Productions, a concert production unit.
Marc Engel, formerly President of 35 Concerts will serve as President of Red Tail Entertainment. Engel’s resume includes more than 30 years’ experience in the management and programming of theatres and performing arts centers, Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas and the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.
Over the past decade at Concerts, Mr. Engel has promoted concerts in theatres and arenas in over 60 US Cities, in venues like the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Benedum Centre in Pittsburgh, Orpheum Theatre in Omaha, the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, Bass Concert Hall in Austin, Jackson Hall in Nashville, the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati, and the Altria Theatre in Richmond, the company said.
Phil Drayer will continue to serve as CEO of Red Tail Entertainment. A Texas-based entrepreneur with an interest in family entertainment, Dreyer served as the lead producer for the interactive show Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live which has successfully toured North America for four years. With partner Erth Visual and Physical in Sydney, Australia, Red Tail will debut their second show, Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure in October of this year and it will tour throughout the 2018 – 2019 season and beyond.
As well, Red Tail under Drayer served as the producer for A Night with Janis Joplin whose title performer, Mary Bridget Davies, was honored with a Tony Award Nomination. And, Red Tail is a member of the producing team of the national tour of Scooby Doo Live! Musical Mysteries, and produced the arena spectaculars Do You Hear The People Sing and Cirque Musica.
Kelsey Young will serve as Vice President and Talent Buyer, USA East, of Red Tail Live! A graduate of Texas Christian University, Kelsey has been with 35 Concerts for the past three years where she successfully worked to initiate relationships and bookings in new regions and new venues, largely in the Southeast, Eastern seaboard and midwestern United States.
Deborah Barr is the General Manager of Red Tail Productions and oversees the day to day business and operation of their current shows, Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live and Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure. She has worked as a production and stage manager for dance, theatre, opera and ceremonial events for numerous companies and producing entities. She worked for many years as Events Manager at the University of Texas at Austin, and as a company manager on tour.
