LOUDON, N.H. (CelebrityAccess) Live Nation and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway have received a favorable court decision to produce a three-day country music festival at the Loudon, N.H., speedway.
A Superior Court judge ruled May 16 the speedway property purchased after 1989 and zoned for concerts and other outdoor events is not included in a settlement agreement that restricts concerts to the speday itself, according to a statement from the speedway. Several people who live near the Speedway sued in December in opposition to the festival, citing the 1989 settlement agreement.
The festival is scheduled for next year. It will be held in the S6 lot of the propert as originally proposed and will include camping and three days of music, according to a statement.
The agreement was made after Bob Bahre purchased the speedway formerly known as Bryar Motorsports Park and was signed by New Hampshire Speedway Inc., eight “concerned racetrack neighbors” and four Loudon planning board members, according to the Concord Monitor.
NHMS said the concert will take place in 2019.
“This is absolutely terrific news for music fans, local business and for tourism in the Capitol Region,” David McGrath, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway, said in a statement. “Many thanks to the Court for a thorough review of the claims. We have our approvals from the Town of Loudon and we are ecstatic to move forward with this event. This has been a long time in the making and we cannot wait to put on one heck of a show.”
The speedway noted the lawsuit ends a “nearly two-year process.”
