DETROIT (CelebrityAccess) — While keeping your event tickets on your mobile device has become de rigueur in the modern concert industry, at least one touring artist is telling fans to remember to bring a paper ticket to his shows.

When Jack White kicks off his upcoming tour in support of his latest album “Boarding House Reach,” at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena this month, he’s taken pains to ask his fans to bring printed tickets to the show as he’s banned the use of mobile devices inside of the concert.

“Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and other photo or video-capturing gizmos will be secured in a Yondr pouch that will be unlocked at the end of the show. You keep your pouch-secured phone on you during the show and, if needed, can unlock your phone at any time in a designated Yondr Phone Zone located in the lobby or concourse,” reps from the tour wrote in an email to ticketholders.

As previously reported in CelebrityAccess, Yondr is a service that provides a special pouch for storing of mobile devices at public events. Fans can keep their phones once they are pouched, but can access their mobile device by tapping the Yondr Pouch’s proprietary lock against a special unlocking kiosk.

The system is intended to cut down on illicit video or audio recordings taken at live events or movies, and just cut down on the admittedly jarring number of people who seem to want to watch a concert through the digital display of their cell phone.

White announced the ban on phones at this concerts earlier this year, when he said: “No photos, video or audio recording devices allowed. We think you’ll enjoy looking up from your gadgets for a little while and experience music and our shared love of it IN PERSON.”
