TORONTO (CelebrityAccess) Noel Edison, Grammy-nominated conductor for the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, has been placed on leave while the choir investigates allegations of sexual misconduct.
The chair of the choir and the director of the Elora Singers, which Edison also conducts, said in a joint statement to the Canadian Press they had received letters of complaint “from third parties” regarding his behavior that left them with “feelings of shock and sadness.”
Both parties said they have launched an independent third-party investigation, according to CP.
Edison was nominated for a Grammy earlier this year for best choral performance with the Choir and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. He also has a nomination from 2010.
