LONDON (CelebrityAccess) After teasing out a reunion on social media, it appears the Spice Girls reunion is just that: a one-day get-together at a hotel.
Victoria Beckham – aka the once-known Posh Spice – had published on Instagram a couple of photos of the girl-powered group hanging out, hinting at things to come. Apparently, though, it is Beckham who has put the kibosh on any future plans, including performances.
“Victoria has been quite vocal, it’s really not something she wants to do at this time,” Mel C, aka Sporty Spice, told The Sun in an exclusive interview during The Prince’s Trust Awards at the London Palladium. The comment follows a veiled reference by Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller who said that “four not five” of the women were on board.
“I think it has to be all five, so it’s tricky,” Fuller said.
Mel C. said there are “no plans” to tour as a foursome. “It was just getting together to reignite all the things that we have had together and to work with Simon.”
She was asked if the Spice Girls would make an appearance at London Pride.
“That would be a very fitting place for the Spice Girls to reform but unfortunately I don’t think you’ll be seeing the Spice Girls on stage this year.”
That didn’t stop Mel B. from plugging her album.
“There will be new music but just me. I’m making an album which will be out later this year. … We’re all just dead busy. So if anything were to happen, it wouldn’t be now.”
Recently, Mel B, aka Scary Spice, said there would be a reunion of some kind at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding but Mel C poured cold water on it.
“I’ve met Prince Charles lots of times. I’m going to ask him where my invite is because I haven’t got mine yet, obviously Mel B said she has hers.
“I think Mel was just kind of having a bit of a joke.”
