MONTREAL (CelebrityAccess) Stay22, a platform that launched in mid-2016, is making an effort to help make hotel and Airbnb block-booking less of a headache for event organizers.
The product embeds code into a registration site, and offers visitors hotels and Airbnb accommodations in the area of the event. Stay22 splits the commissions with the organizer. The company works with everyone from high school events to convention centers.
“We have reached out to multiple people via email, people we think are interested in the events industry, whether it’s event planners, ticketing platforms, event management systems, event organizers for music festivals, sporting events, even the professional conference organizers,” Stay22’s Mohamad Al Saddon told CelebrityAccess. “Anybody who has an event who wants an accommodations system. It could be a headache. This is one step ahead so they can put out the best show.”
Saddon added that it takes five minutes to cut-and-paste the widget’s one line of code into a website.
“Live events, specifically for music events, for promoters, they probably have to go through the same process of getting hotel room blocks so that’s why we want to help those organizers, to improve their experience,” he said. “Typically, the event organizers put out the information for their events, call the hotels, give out a code for the hotel to get the special rate. The event organizer would have to search through the various agencies and, even when they find the best deal, it could be 30 minutes away from the event.
“So, this is the tool that not only benefits the event organizer but also improves the community experience so they have the best time attending this event.”
