NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) Ed Sheeran may not have been in attendance Sunday when the Grammys took place at New York’s Madison Garden, but he found his way to the venue for the Elton John tribute concert Jan. 30.

Sheeran won two awards at the show – Best Pop Solo Performance for “Shape Of You” and Best Pop Vocal Album for ÷, giving him a total of four Grammys out of 13 nominations.. However, many called foul (including Elton John) that Sheeran was snubbed from Grammy recognition – those were the only two categories he was nominated in, and he went up against acts like Lady Gaga and Kesha to grab the gongs.

As for his whereabouts, Sheeran said he was at home asleep and woke up to learn of his wins.

The star-spotting was in top form at the concert, with the press publishing separate stories about each star’s arrival, from Miley Cyrus to Lady Gaga to Lucy Liu.

“Elton John: I’m Still Standing – A Grammy Salute,” featured Cyrus, Kesha, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, Little Big Town, Chris Martin, Maren Morris, Sam Smith, and Keith Urban performing tributes to John, who recently announced his mammoth, years-long farewell tour.

As for Sheeran, he too has performed with Elton.
