(CelebrityAccess) — Electronic dance music purveyor Beatport announced that Robb McDaniels has been named Chief Executive Officer of the company.
In his new role, McDaniels will focus on keeping Beatport as the leading source of electronic music for both professional DJs, as well as general audiences.
McDaniels is best known as the longtime CEO of InGrooves, the technology, label services and marketing company he founded in 2002. He resigned from his position as CEO from InGrooves in 2014.
In 2016, he also founded Faction Entertainment, billed as a technology-driven management services company and signed on as a venture partner for the technology-focused investment advisor TechInvest.
He will continue to serve as Venture Advisor at TechInvest and Executive Chairman at Faction, according to a press release.
Beatport is part of LiveStyle, the Randy Phillips-helmed company that rose from the ashes of Robert Sillerman’s SFX Entertainment after it went insolvent in 2016.
LiveStyle President/CEO Randy Phillips commented, “Beatport is in a period of resurgent growth and has recently returned to profitability. We are excited to have Robb take the reins of Beatport during this time and look forward to his innovative leadership to continue Beatport’s upward user trends, including the company’s increased visitors, users, and track sales.”
